The Church Budget

Hey Church!

8.31.23

Typically, I don’t write about our finances. However, today, in addition to my article, I’m also writing with a heartfelt request that holds the potential to uplift our church significantly. As your pastor, I’m committed to our shared journey of faith and asking for your support.

I invite each of you to consider increasing your regular giving to our church’s budget by at least 10% over the next four months. I have already made this commitment myself, and your participation would mean a lot.

Our collective efforts power our church’s mission. Your increased giving to the budget enables us to continue vital programs, services, and outreach that touch lives and spread God’s love. It allows us to support missions that bring hope to the vulnerable, minister to those in need, and positively impact our community.

The budget is the lifeblood of our ability to carry out our mission and ministry. It provides for the maintenance of our sacred space, the compensation of our dedicated staff who work tirelessly to serve you, and the resources needed to facilitate meaningful worship experiences. It fuels our outreach initiatives, children and youth programs, and opportunities for spiritual growth. It also helps us to meet our global mission and connectional commitment to the United Methodist Church by paying our apportionments. If you notice above, we have fallen behind.

Let’s remember that everything we have is a gift from God. We are stewards of these blessings, tasked with using them to bless others. By giving a little more, we fulfill this sacred duty and empower our church to continue its transformative work.

Your joyful contributions, no matter the size, make a difference. May we respond to this call with open hearts, for “God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).

Thank you for your unwavering support.

Pastor Sela
