Rise Up!

Dear Church,

Last Sunday, Brenda Bearden, our Lay Leader, shared an inspiring message, reminding us of the power of love in action. Laity Sunday’s theme, “Rise Up and remain committed to Love’s teaching,” echoed throughout Sunday’s message.

We explored the vital work of the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), offering help and hope to those in need locally and globally. We also explored Kairos with its message of love, mercy, and grace, a ministry serving within prison walls. And lastly, Brenda emphasized the significance of loving our neighbors through initiatives like food pantries and aiding the homeless.

The sermon, “It Takes All of Us,” based on Matthew 25:31-40, reinforced our collective responsibility. As we reflect on these teachings, may we rise up with love, continuing to be beacons of compassion in our community and beyond.

With heartfelt gratitude, thank you, Brenda, for your message.

Love, grace, and peace!
Pastor Sela
