God of Mercy, we lift our hearts to you in prayer for our church family and the wider world, trusting in your unending compassion and love.

For the Grieving Among Us:
We pray for the Livingston family as they grieve the passing of Marilyn Livingston. Surround them with your comfort and strength.

We hold Delaine Clifton and her family in our hearts as they mourn the death of her brother, Kenneth Willingham. May your presence be their refuge and peace.

Grant your tender care to all in our community who are burdened by sorrow, and let the love of this church family be a source of strength.

For the People of California:
As wildfires rage across Southern California, we lift in prayer all who are affected by this devastation:

For the Lost: We grieve for those who have perished. Receive them into your eternal peace, and grant comfort to those who mourn their loss.

For the Displaced: Be with those forced to flee their homes, leaving behind familiarity, treasured memories, and the comforts of life built with love. May they find safety and hope amid the chaos, trusting in your abiding care.

For the Grieving: Hold close those who now face the overwhelming loss of homes, livelihoods, and communities. Surround them with compassion, and inspire the kindness and generosity of neighbors and strangers alike.

For the Vulnerable: Protect all pets, livestock, and wild animals endangered by the flames. Guide them to safety, and bless the hands of those who rescue and care for them.

For the First Responders: Bless firefighters, rescue teams, and emergency workers risking their lives to save others. Grant them courage, strength, and moments of rest in the face of exhaustion and danger.

For Creation: We pray for the forests, fields, and landscapes scarred by fire. Teach us to be faithful stewards of your creation and inspire us to care for the earth with renewed wisdom and dedication.

For the Community: Let hope rise in the hearts of those who rebuild. May acts of compassion and courage light the way forward as they recover what was lost.

God of comfort and restoration, may your peace, which surpasses all understanding, sustain all who suffer and grieve. Strengthen them for the days ahead and fill them with your abiding presence. Amen.
