Hands and Feet of Christ

Day 26: Thursday, March 23, 2023

Hands and Feet of Christ

Scripture: Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. (1 Corinthians 12:27 KJV)

Devotion: As I sit at my desk, I glance at my arthritic hands, and sigh. Over the past year, I have noticed increased changes in my fingers that have prevented me from doing what I so easily did in the past. This is so discouraging. There are so many simple things that I now need help doing. How can I be the hands and feet of Christ when my hands are unable or less able to do tasks? Then my focus is switched to looking up to the Lord for guidance. His hands and feet were incapacitated when he was nailed to the cross. Yet He was able to forgive the thief who was hanging on the cross next to him. Jesus used His voice to speak to the one who asked for forgiveness. No hands or feet required. He adapted to the situation and used what He had. In this verse, Paul is letting us know that we can make a difference when we use what we have to do His work. We are one part of a whole, so use what we have.

Prayer: Oh Lord, forgive me when I feel sorry for myself. Please help me to adapt to find ways of serving you. I pray this in your Son’s name. Amen
