Sela is an ordained elder in the Central Texas Conference of The United Methodist Church. She is a native of the South Pacific Islands of Tonga but has lived in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex for most of her life.
Sela holds an undergraduate degree in finance from the University of Texas at Arlington, a Master of Theological Studies from Brite Divinity School, TCU, a Master of Divinity from Perkins School of Theology, SMU, and a Doctor of Ministry from Drew University.
Before entering the ministry, Sela held a career in the financial industry, holding various positions in retail banking, mortgage lending, and brokerage.
She served as an Associate Pastor at Martin UMC in Bedford for two years until she was appointed in 2013 to Annetta and Bethel UMC in Parker County. In 2016, Sela was assigned to First United Methodist Church in Taylor until her current appointment in July 2022 at Western Hills United Methodist Church in Fort Worth.
