                                    Great Joy

Scripture: Luke 2:10-11 (NRSV) But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for see, I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people: to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord.

Devotion: It just happened. That wonderful feeling that something extraordinary is about to happen. It comes over me every year, and I never know when it is about to happen. This year it has come early and includes Thanksgiving. It is a feeling that includes moments of joy, praise, and expectation. Yes, something is coming. And we will be able to experience it as we wait together for “the arrival of the baby.”

Prayer: Oh Lord, thank you for the good news of great joy. Amen.
